Your Move: Food
Here’s what YOU can do to build a thriving City.
1. Build a more just food system.
The New Orleans Food Policy Council advocates for equitable food policy at a local, state and national level. Get involved by joining their email newsletter.
2. Buy local food.
The best way to support our local food economy is to shop local! The New Orleans Food Co-op is open 7 days a week at 2372 St. Claude Ave and features local produce and groceries.
The Crescent City Farmers Market has three weekly markets and offers additional benefits for SNAP recipients.
3. Grow food & build community.
Rooted Futures Farm's BLOC by BLOC is a land-memory, food, and community stewardship project rooted in care, culture, and collective return.
They are inviting community members to share how they may want to support, participate in, or walk alongside this work—at their own pace and capacity.
