Welcome, Summer Team!

As we move into the summer season, we're excited to welcome three new members to our team. Please join us in welcoming:

Neomi Washington – Outreach Coordinator

Neomi C. Washington is an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, with a strong passion for advocacy work and social inclusion. Prior to joining CBNO and AmeriCorps, she was the Student Engagement Assistant in the Campaigns office at Strathclyde University’s Students’ Union, where she provided support for campaigns ranging from the Scottish student housing crisis to gender-based violence against women. She previously served as the Chair of Strathclyde University Business School Department of Economics’ Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC).

She is originally from Long Island, graduated from Brentwood High School in 2021, and from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland in 2025. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics & International Relations and Economics.

Kaylie Nhan – Program Coordinator (Intern)

Kaylie Nhan is a student from Shreveport, LA studying Political Science and Social Policy + Practice with a minor in English at Tulane University. At Tulane's Center for Public Service, Kaylie is a Service Learning Assistant and Community Engagement Advocate where she supports students, faculty, and staff with their mission of ensuring community service efforts in the New Orleans region are done with cultural humility and respect. Her interest areas include public policy, education and youth development, equitable transit, and sustainable urbanism. In her free time, she enjoys hosting the jazz show on WTUL 91.5FM, reading modern classics, trying new Thai restaurants, and running.

Destiny Brown – Event Coordinator (Intern)

Destiny Brown is a New Orleans native and an undergraduate student at Tulane University with a degree in Communications and Philosophy. Currently, she serves as a youth advisory board member for the Children's Youth and Planning Board (CYPB), where she collaborates with peers and local leaders on civic projects promoting the youth master plan.

Prior to joining the Committee For A Better New Orleans, Destiny volunteered at 2025 New Orleans Fashion week, served as an Escalations Department intern at the Sewerage and Water Board, and the Vice President of the Tulane Women's Network (TWN).

This marks an exciting moment of growth for our team, and our organization. I can't wait to share more about what we accomplish together. Please join me in wishing Neomi, Kaylie, and Destiny a warm welcome!
