Committee for a Better New Orleans offers a variety of workshops and other services and products to the community. These both advance our mission and help generate revenue for the organization. Email email@example.com for more information about any of these services.
NPP Facilitation: any applicant seeking an action by the New Orleans City Planning Commission must complete the Neighborhood Participation Plan (NPP) process. The NPP is based on CBNO’s work, and we offer services to help prepare for, conduct and meet the requirements of the NPP. Full details can be found at www.nppfacilitation.org.
Workshops: CBNO draws on its 50 years of experience to offer workshops on Community Organizing, Organizational Sustainability, and Organizational Goal-Setting. Each can be a powerful capacity-builder for your organization.
The People’s Budget: CBNO’s Big Easy Budget Game enables any New Orleans resident to create his/her own version of the city budget; results from all participants are compiled each year and submitted to the city budget staff, the mayor and the City Council as The People’s Budget. Considered one of the most innovative civic engagement technologies available today, The People’s Budget can be adapted and customized for literally any municipality or jurisdiction in the world.
Leadership Module: CBNO has been conducting the Bryan Bell Metropolitan Leadership Forum since 1968. This three-hour interactive workshop teaches about leadership in a team setting, including interactive exercises that enable participants to experience themselves as both team members and leaders.
New Orleans City Bus Tour: the Leadership Forum begins with a bus tour of the city, focusing on the built environment and how it impacts, and is impacted by, the key issues facing New Orleans. Tours can be customized, and be from two to four hours in length.
