Welcome, New Board Members!

CBNO is led by a board of committed, passionate New Orleanians from all across town; to make sure we have a broad range of perspectives to guide our work. We work together to make sure The People have a voice in the decisions that impact us all. Proudly, we have a board that brings together the skills, connections, and ideas we need to build a strong organization and a thiving New Orleans. This year, we’re bringing in 6 new members with a range of experiences in strategic planning, neighborhood and community engagement, equitable finance and budget processes, and community leadership. We’re thrilled to welcome our new board members, Allison Cormier (MoCaFi), Rianne Egana, Samantha Fleurinor, Danielle Scott Parker, Howard Terrell, and Josh Zuckerman. Learn more about them on our team page, cbno.org/team.

Congrats to our new Executive Committee Members

Our board has also elected new leadership! Our executive committee includes 2 Co-chairs, and a Secretary/Treasurer. Our co-chairs serve staggered 2-year terms, and the rest of our leadership positions are elected annually. This year, our Co-Chairs are Julie Grantz (2022-2023) and Damian Clark (2023-2024). Our Secretary/Treasurer is Dr. Roland Bullard. These folks work closely with our Executive Director, offer organizational guidance on our programming and advocacy, and ensure our work is strategic and impactful.

Thanks to Outgoing Board Leaders

Co-Chair Malaika Moran has completed 2 years of CBNO Board Leadership. Malaika Moran is a stellar thought partner, strategizer, and simplifier of complex systems. As Board Co-Chair in 2021-2022, Malaika advised on our brand and communications overhaul that we unveiled in 2021. She also brought critical perspectives to our 2022 Strategic Planning. Malaika’s leadership ensured we had great engagement from impacted-communities, consistently ask how we can better lift up left-out community-leaders, and create resources and information that are easy to understand. We’re so grateful for her 2 years of leadership as Co-Chair!

Farewell and thanks as well to Mamie Gasperecz and Deborah Grimes, who completed their board terms in 2023. Both were instrumental in ensuring CBNO’s first chapter under new leadership went smoothly.
